About
Hello, and welcome to my portfolio! I am Srikkanth Sundaram, a UX Designer and Researcher with a background in Human-Computer Interaction, game design, and front-end development. I use research-driven design to create emotionally impactful, intuitive, and user-centered digital experiences.
I graduated my Master's in Human-Computer Interaction at University College Dublin. I’m available for opportunities where I can apply my research & design background to real-world products
Academic and Research Journey
With a background in Programming, UX design, game development, and research, I have a strong foundation in understanding user behaviours, cognitive science, and interactive media. My academic experience and research has allowed me to focus on the intersection of user experience design and game design, where I explore how digital environments shape emotional and behavioral responses.
During my Master's, I conducted a thesis on emotion-inducing video game elements and their effects on player behavior, using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. This research experience has further deepened my interest in how interactive digital spaces can be used to educate, engage, and influence users' well-being. This is a key focus that I hope to expand in my PhD research, exploring the potential of video games to promote cultural education, social cohesion, and tackle ingrained biases.
My Research Philisophy
I believe that research must be grounded in both rigorous scientific methods and a genuine curiosity about human behavior. My approach is to combine empirical research with creative design processes, ensuring that my work not only contributes to knowledge but also offers practical solutions. I am particularly interested in exploring how digital environments particularly video games, can create immersive, impactful experiences that resonate with users on an emotional and cognitive level.
